NEW YEAR: New HOPE, New JOY!

"There is an intimate relationship between joy and hope. While optimism makes us live as if someday soon things will go better for us, hope frees us from the need to predict the future and allows us to live in the present, with the deep trust that God will never leave us alone but will fulfill the deepest desires of our heart. Joy in this perspective is the fruit of hope."

Henri Nouwen, Here and Now

Join me in welcoming 2012 with a renewed sense of hope and joy because we serve a God who, in Henri Nouwen's words, specializes in "making all things new!"

I am particularly excited to announce that my third book on Nouwen, which rounds off my trilogy work on his spirituality, is finally scheduled to be released during the first week of March. Watch out for it! See what others are saying about this new book by clicking on this link.

“I admire and trust Wil Hernandez’s framing of Henri Nouwen’s thought in
terms of his natural ability to be a nondualistic thinker, and his ability to hold would-be tensions in a very creative balance. I think it was this passion that
drew us to one another. He lived and loved paradox, and knew there was a new
wisdom to be had if we held both sides of difficult questions face to face.
He invariably made both faces shine with a new brilliance.

I thank Wil Hernandez for continuing to study and disseminate the brilliant
gifts and Gospel-centered ministry of Henri Nouwen. This book, and his two
other previous studies on Nouwen, are now keeping us all on message!
Wil has become a friend of a friend, who was an inspired friend to all who love
The simple and wondrous Gospel of Life. His writings and his ministry
will stand the tests of time, because Henri Nouwen saw and
wrote from a bright and clear level that is always true”.
